Additionally, the removal of the DPF reduces exhaust backpressure, resulting in increased exhaust flow and improved motor performance. When combined with an ECU remap, a DPF delete has been shown to enhance power and torque across all vehicles. As a result, drivers can expect a significant increase in fuel mileage after deleting the DPF/CAT system, potentially reaching a combined mileage of 18-19 mpg compared to around 13-14 mpg when dealing with a clogged DPF.

A tuner with DPF removal capability is required to prevent engine warning lights or diagnostic trouble codes.
